Savoury cream tea anyone? You have to eat this to believe it.
Pizza Scones, Chilli Jam & Ranch Whipped Cream
Cheesy herby scones, smothered in spicy chilli jam and topped with ranch flavoured whipped cream. Savoury cream tea at it's finest!
225g self-raising flour, plus extra for dusting
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp Pizza The Action seasoning
55g chilled butter, cut into cubes
120g mature cheddar, grated
90-100ml milk, plus 1 tbsp for glazing
2 tbsp Smokey Dragon Hot Sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp corn flour
100ml double cream
2 tsp All The Ranch seasoning

To Make the Scones
Put the flour into a bowl. Add the butter and fondle in between your fingers to make breadcrumbs.
Add 100g of the cheese and mix it through.
Make a well in the middle and add around 90ml milk until you have a firm dough.
Roll out the dough until it’s around 2 cm thick.
Cut scone shapes from the dough. Place on a baking tray with greaseproof paper and bake in the over at 180C for about 15 minutes or until cooked through.
To make the Jam
Add the ingredients into a saucepan. Heat through stirring whilst you do it. Decant and put into the fridge.
To make the Ranch Whipped Cream
Put it into a bowl and whip it with a whisk until thick.
Construct the scones by starting with the scone, THEN adding jam, THEN adding whipped cream. If you do it the other way you’re a serial killer.
