Chicken Salt in the UK - we've released our own, vegan version!

Every three months we have to come up with four options our Club Maniac members can vote on for the next box. So in September 2024, we included Australian-style Chicken Salt as an option and our members loved it and voted it it! 

By November we think we cracked the recipe and it went into Club Maniac Box 4.

What's chicken salt?

We have gotten several requests for it over the years, but never looked into it that closely. But it's kind of an Aussie chippy staple. OG Australian chicken salts often contain actual chicken as well, but there are veggie and vegan versions, too. Most of all, it's salty, obviously. But it's also intensely savoury - it hits a very specific spot!

It wasn't all that simple to develop but after a few iterations we were pretty happy.

But the proof was in the pudding. Our members loved it. And at the time of writing this, which is February 2025, we still get daily messages of people asking us to make it a permanent product.

So here we are. Welcome to the line-up.

What should you use it on? Chips of course. But also chicken, tofu, eggs - anywhere you'd use salt. Be aware that this is a salt first and foremost, not a spice. So it is intensely salty and you don't need a whole lot. Don't worry, we packed it with flavour so you won't need to.

Also, please keep away from moisture as we've decided to not add anti-caking agents. Salt can clump if exposed to moisture so keep that thing dry :)
