Everyone, meet my mate Angela

Everyone, meet my mate Angela

In the 7 years since starting Condimaniac it's almost exclusively been me that writes the emails, with a little bit of input from Jen from time to time. I've probably written getting on for a thousand now, which it pretty mental.

However, with things getting bigger I've realised I need some help. So last week we hired my extremely talented friend Angela to help out with some of the communication stuff, including some emails.

Don't worry I'm not going anywhere and genuinely enjoy writing these to you guys, but Angela will be popping up from time to time so I thought it would be a good idea to introduce you. Rather than you worrying if it is in fact that like of those "Are you on a date that's not working out?" situations and I'm trying to signal something to you in secret 😂

I'm going to hand you over to Angela now so she can introduce herself... BE NICE!

Hey gang,

Super excited to be joining the Condimaniac crew! Thought I’d give a quick intro so we can all put faces to names a bit better.

I’m Angela, 35, half Thai, living in VERY South London. I’ve spent most of my adult life in the music industry up until last November when I got made redundant (a sign of the times!). I’m obsessed with cheese, basically all Asian food, dog walks, beaches, heavy metal, festivals, and yes… Lady Gaga (sorry, not sorry).

I’ve known Jen and Kier for over a decade. We met back in our music industry days - Kier in his band, Fearless Vampire Killers, me as their publicist/management assistant, and Jen photographing the band’s shows and helping with video shoots. We have all together spent MANY nights at music venues, rock bars, and festivals… many of which involved some questionable dancing, and me force-feeding them Jägerbombs. My wallet, and our dignity and livers are very grateful we outgrew that phase.

What I’ve always loved about Jen and Kier is their creativity and dedication. Watching Condimaniac grow from an Instagram account reviewing condiments to the fully fledged, award-winning (and honestly THE BEST) condiments company it is now has been incredible. Jen was always a woman on a mission - moving to London to work in music, and she did exactly that: from touring with bands, to shooting photos for magazines, to becoming a digital marketing whizz. Kier, from his band days, essentially built a cult fanbase from scratch PLUS a whole fictional world long before the music industry cottoned on to that formula and social media went on to become the silly dance challenge/lip-sync ugly monster it is now. One of my proudest moments as Fearless Vampire Killers’ publicist back in the day was this VICE article HERE - definitely worth a read if you want to see how ahead of the game these guys were.

Anyway, I’m rambling, but you get the gist: we go WAY back, and I’m genuinely honored they’ve asked me to help out with Condimaniac on all things marketing. Most importantly, I can’t wait to get stuck in and get to know YOU guys who make this such a brilliant community of sauce obsessives. And who knows, maybe I might be able to persuade the bosses to introduce a Thai condiment to the range in the near future…

Excited to be in touch and speak soon!

Ang x

Weirdly, I didn't tell her to say any of that 😂

So that's Angela, if you see her pop up in any emails or content, that's why!
